Eanes CARES was formed in December of 2003 by a group of community leaders from each of the EISD schools. One of the initial concerns was that the DARE program was being discontinued, and there was uncertainty about what would replace it, in terms of prevention education. This has grown since that time to embrace a broader perspective, with a wide range of activities with the goal of helping to raise healthy kids. Eanes CARES has focused primarily on the areas of: parent and community education, developing a resource list of healthy activities for kids, support of activities in coordination with the Eanes Student Safety and Health Advisory Council (SSHAC) and funding a community survey.
Mission Statement: We are a group of committed community members, parents, educators, and
students working together to promote healthy and safe behavior for all youth in
the Eanes Community.
Our Vision: To create a community of care where children know that they are honored and loved and where their choices demonstrate respect for themselves, their community and one another.
